Is tipping even expected in Switzerland?
Service is included, and the checkout says so right next to the tip options. The prompt is an offer, not an expectation; skipping it takes zero taps. That honesty is exactly why guests who tip do it gladly.
Does Settle take a cut of tips?
No. Our commission is computed on the order subtotal only, so a tip costs you nothing with us. Payment processing applies to the full payment, tip included, at published rates.
How do tips show up in my accounting?
Outside VAT, on the receipt's own tip line, and in a separate column in the reports and the CSV export. Revenue stays revenue, tips stay tips.
How do I hand tips over to the team?
Reports total tips per day and per period, separate from everything else. How you split them stays your house rule; Settle gives you the exact number to split.
