Every way your guests want to pay

Cards, TWINT, Apple Pay and Google Pay for everyone, WeChat Pay and Alipay for guests from further away. One tap at the table.

Checkout

Guests pay their way, in one tap

One clean payment sheet: TWINT, cards with 3-D Secure, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and international wallets completing the list. Guests pick whatever they already use.

  • TWINT that works the way guests use it: the order goes through even if they never come back to the browser
  • Visa and Mastercard with 3-D Secure
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay for one-tap checkout
  • WeChat Pay and Alipay for international guests
  • Payouts go straight to your IBAN, with a clear payment ledger in the portal

A payment in four steps

  1. 01

The guest taps Pay and picks whatever they already use.

  2. 02

TWINT or the wallet opens, the guest approves, done.

  3. 03

The payment confirmation creates the kitchen ticket.

  4. 04

The money lands in your balance and pays out to your IBAN.

The kitchen never sees an unpaid order

The ticket is created by the payment itself, not by anything happening on the guest’s phone. No payment, no ticket. Nobody cooks for a declined card.

Where the money goes

The commission is printed in the open: 0.5–0.9% per paid order depending on your plan, computed on the order subtotal only. Tips ride the same payment and carry no commission at all; only payment processing applies to them, at the same published rate as the rest of the payment.

Every payment lands in your own account and pays out to your Swiss IBAN, with payment processing billed to you separately at published rates. Each payment shows up in a readable ledger in the portal with its fee and your net, and if you refund an order, our commission for that order comes back to you as well.

When something goes wrong

Payment edge cases are handled the boring way: predictably.

A card is declined

The guest sees the decline right on their phone and can retry or switch methods on the same order. Nothing reaches the kitchen; nobody cooks for a card that said no.

The guest never comes back from TWINT

The order is saved before TWINT opens, and the approval alone completes it. The ticket carries the table number, so staff know where it goes even if the guest’s browser never returns.

You need to refund an order

Refund single lines or a custom amount from the portal. The VAT split is recalculated, a numbered credit note references the original receipt, and our fee for the refunded order comes back to you.

Saturday, 21:05. Table 12 pays.

What one payment actually looks like, second by second.

  1. 21:05:07

The guest taps Pay and picks TWINT. One tap opens the app.

  2. 21:05:19

Approval in the TWINT app. The guest puts the phone down; whether the browser comes back no longer matters.

  3. 21:05:20

The payment clears. Only now does the order count, and nothing reached the kitchen before this.

  4. 21:05:22

The ticket is on the kitchen screen, about two seconds after the money. The receipt is already on its way.

Payment questions

Do I need my own TWINT contract?

No. TWINT, cards and wallets all run through Settle's Stripe integration under one agreement. You never deal with acquirers, terminals or separate contracts per method.

When does the money reach my account?

Payments settle into your balance immediately and pay out to your Swiss IBAN, typically within a few business days. The portal lists every payment with its fee and your net; the payout schedule itself sits in your Stripe dashboard.

What about guests who don't have TWINT?

The same sheet offers Visa and Mastercard with 3-D Secure, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Guests pick whatever they already use; there is nothing to sign up for.

Do I still need a card terminal?

Not for Settle orders: the guest's phone is the terminal. Many venues keep an old terminal around during the transition, but every order placed through Settle is paid before the kitchen sees it.
